Just a quick heads up, Super Meat Boy was released for the PC just the other day and can be purchased from Steam and Direct2Drive.
Super Meat Boy has been out on the Xbox360 for a while now, but if my recent re-acquaintance with a capable desktop computer has taught me anything it's that the PC version of a game is usually the one to get.
It looks like the wait was worth it, as the PC version of SMB has it's own exclusive playable characters (including the Half-Life HeadCrab if you get it on Steam - how cool is that!?), plus Team Meat have promised that a free level editor for the game will be arriving soon.
Unfortunately there have been a few technical problems with SMB's PC launch, including screwy audio, some graphical craziness and lack of support for non-xbox360 controllers. Still, the developers have reacted quickly and those things should be fixed soon.
If you didn't already know, Super Meat Boy began life as an enormously popular Flash game before being commissioned for a proper release on Nintendo's WiiWare service. A bit later they also announced that an Xbox Live Arcade version would be released first.
After a fairly lengthy delay to add more meat (har har) to the game, it was released on the 20th of October, but the bigger file size has apparently given Nintendo some problems and as of today the release date for the WiiWare version is still a rather non-committal TBA 2010.
PS3 fans, if you haven't already heard, don't get your hopes up. It ain't coming.
